About this calculation

Some cleaning quotes combine a price per square foot with a fixed call-out or minimum charge. This calculator keeps those parts separate and scales the resulting per-visit estimate across identical sessions. Estimate house cleaning cost when comparing household options.

Formula

visit cost = area in square feet × price per square foot + fixed per-visit charge

Worked example

With Area cleaned: 1500 ft², Area rate: 0.08 currency units/ft², Fixed charge per visit: 40 currency units, Number of visits: 4 visits, cost per visit is 160.00 currency units.

Inputs and units

Enter the service area in square feet, a monetary rate per square foot, any separate fixed charge for each visit, and the number of visits. Check whether a quote prices total floor area, cleaned surface, or only selected rooms.

  • Area cleaned (ft²): Measure floor or service area according to the cleaning quote's definition.
  • Area rate (currency units/ft²): Use the agreed cleaning price per square foot.
  • Fixed charge per visit (currency units): Include a call-out or minimum charge only if it is separate from the area rate.
  • Number of visits (visits): Count the sessions using the same rate and fixed fee.

Calculation and worked example

Multiply area by the per-square-foot rate and add the fixed per-visit charge. Multiply that visit amount by count for a repeated-service estimate using unchanged scope and price In compact notation, visit cost = area in square feet × price per square foot + fixed per-visit charge.

For 1,500 ft² at 0.08 currency units per square foot, area cost is 120. Add a 40-unit fixed charge for a 160-unit visit. Four identical visits total 640 units.

How to use the answer

The number is a quote model based entirely on entered rates. It does not include taxes, supplies, deep-clean surcharges, travel, unusual stains, or a discount for recurring bookings unless these are built into the rates you use.

Compare a one-time cleaning with recurring service by changing visit count or the quoted rate. For distinct property sections billed at different rates, calculate each section separately and add fees according to the vendor's terms.

Assumptions and checks

Every visit covers the same area and carries the same area rate and fixed fee. No minimum invoice, tiered pricing, or one-off start-up fee is applied automatically.

Do not add the fixed fee only once if the quote charges it per visit. Conversely, do not double-count it if the square-foot rate already includes call-out and supplies.

At one visit, total should equal cost per visit. At zero area, the estimate should be the fixed charge multiplied by visits, if a fixed charge is entered.

Common questions

What does the cost per visit result represent?

It is the entered area charge plus the fixed charge for one cleaning visit, measured in your chosen currency unit.

What should I check before relying on this result?

Check the quote's definition of area, what services and supplies are included, and whether the fixed charge repeats each visit.

Inputs

  • Area cleaned (ft²)
